Why Be Against The Vancouver 2010 Olympics?

Let’s forget the fact that a group of whiny protesters cannot stop a global event that supports our elite athletes and sponsors, because the high achieving, hard working ones are the ones who have more power and say on what goes on, rather than the opposite. Acknowledging that all the protests and complaining won’t stop the games from happening anyways, let’s explore why it’s somewhat of a self-contradiction, and an illogical thing, to protest the Olympic games. Critical Mass = Ignorant Mass

The Critical Mass has a noble goal of making our cities more bicycle friendly, with more bike lanes, and better safety for bikes, as well as courteous sharing of the roads between motorists and bikers. However it seems that the original purpose has been tainted by the moronic, selfish, unpractical, and pathetic mob-like method of execution. Here I will discuss very candidly, and offensively, why, as a proud car-driving yuppie, (who also likes to ride the bike) think the Critical Mass is an unintelligent mass protest that has to stop for the good of everybody.

I recently experienced the agony that drivers go through when attempting to drive through downtown in the early evening on the last Friday of each month. I have had conversations with two absolutely idiotic supporters of the Critical Mass (their responses were unintelligent, illogical, and that of a passive left-wing union mongers who tend to spend their lives complaining against the system for their lack of well-being), and I have gathered my thoughts on it.

Not too long ago the new mascots for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games was released, and a lot of people were appalled at the childish and overly cute design that sort of resembles some kind of a Japanese cartoon, while others loved the cuddly and cute design of these critters. And some even unveiled other worse Olympic logos in the past that are actually much worse than the 2010 Logos.
Apparantly, a local Vancouver designer had better ideas for the mascots. As you can see he obviously was not happy …
