Every school I went to had bomb drills. We would all have to quickly leave the school extremely quickly and unlike a fire drill would in fact have to get quite far from the school. We actually had a few real scares at the time. At 3 separate times between 4th and 6th grade someone called in a bomb threat and they had to evacuate the school completely. Got to love the IRA. Nothing accomplishes getting the English out of Northern Ireland like scaring the bejesus out of some kids in Primary School. I grew up in England when the IRA was still blowing up train stations. My high-rise condo may or may not survive. I did have a nightmare a few nights ago that the new Shang-ri-la fell over sideways (which doesn't happen with large buildings in real life) and my own building fell over too. With "The Big One" coming soon, or so they say. I think we should be seeing a little more emergency preparation and training drills around the city. When we eventually do get this big earthquake, they say it is going to be devastating to the area. In order to minimize casualties and damage we should all go through proper training and planning.
