An Influx of Japanese Spam

February 14th, 2007 by Jeff Kee | Hot Issues, Online Security, Rants, Stupid People | leave a response, or trackback

Japanese Spam MailSpam in the wrong language is probably the biggest waste ever. I speak English and Korean, and a little bit of Japanese but not enough to want to read through spam email in Japanese. But I’ve been getting an influx of them. One of them even says “Merry Christmas” on it, for God’s sake. I thought they operated with the same solar calendar, but apparantly not!

I wonder how my email address got exposed to all these Japanese guys. It could be from random websites that display my email as a direct link… I often just cannot be bothered with checking all the securities, and I guess that’s my fault. I’ll just beef up my Outlook spam settings by marking all these as junk so that the filter learns better… God.

Hello, Jeff Kee,

FYI, most of those Japanese spam emails you posted are for sex sites. Even if you can only read katakana, I’m sure you could work it out (from two of the messages).

You would only get stuff like this if you have registered on a Japanese porn site or something similar.

Thanks for posting your browsing habits on the internet for all the world to see!

A. I don’t like Japanese girls.
B. I can get free porn without giving out my email, of Latin and White girls.
C. There are many other ways to harvest emails without waiting for inbound subscriptions.

Thanks for exposing your hot-blooded ignorance and insecurities, just waiting to try to insult somebody else. Find other ways to inflate your own ego and your life will be slightly less miserable.
