There are stores run by hackers who specifically crack phones from abroad. It became an industry in its own due to the slow introduction of new fancy phones in Canada... Phones from Korea, Japan and Europe are constantly being cracked and used on our networks here.

There's always ways to crack a GSM phone and integrate it into the network.. but you may have a valid point about the data transfer fees for this monster.

I think some hackers have managed to get it working on other networks now, won't be long before they have this available as some easy download.

We are still waiting patiently in the UK to find out when it is being launced here.

"this should be a great opportunity to get one before everybody else."

Not that it would be much use without any service :P.

It is GSM though, so if someone figures out how to unlock it you might be able to use it with Rogers (except the data features; even if you managed to get them to work the cost would be insane). Or maybe get a sim-card from Verizon, and use it as a camera and iPod?
