Last Saturday, I had lunch with John Chow and a bunch of other guys. Rainer Schmoll of ThinkReferrals, as well as Gary Jones of Bluefur Hosting was there (Gary was hosting the lunch.. thanks for lunch Gary!).

It was an interesting lunch, and during that, John and I discussed the importance of having decent, and well-filtered links on our blogrolls in order to achieve better pagerank and credibility. For more details of the food (John is quite into food and what not), view John’s review of the lunch.

In case you did not know, John Chow is one of the big blogger guys who have a lot of experience in the internet world, and also makes the money to back it up.

Gary Jones from Bluefur Hosting is the owner of the company, and provides what I have experienced as the best web hosting service. I get a solid backend, reliable servers. My website is hosted their, and so are all my clients’.

Hey, how come I wasn’t invited :(

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun and had a great opportunity to brainstorm ideas. Good to hear your web hosting experience is going well…ours has been the opposite. We signed a two year contract with dreamhost and our site has been just about crashing with 6,000 hits. They sent us an email telling us that they put a restriction on our site to only allow 5 people to view our site within a 30 second time period.

It’s hard to write posts because we have trouble navigating through the site. Today was a little better, but that’s rediculous. For the amount of TB they have in bandwith, there shouldn’t be any problems.

Anyhow, great pics and looks like you all had a great time. Invite me next time!!! ;-)

Jane May,

thats a shame you’re having trouble with your host.. I think it’s unfair for them to put that 5 people per 30 second restriction on you. i would think it would be in your best interest to find something else. the last thing you want is a restriction on when visitors can see your page.

I would agree that its one temporary solution to the crashing problem.. but its not the best one that’s for sure

I wish you all the luck in resolving this!
