Before I started my blog, I had my website www.jeffkee.com up for well over a year. It was more of a presentation site where I had my portfolio set up, and I would get my potential clients to visit my site to see my work. In any case, I didn’t even bother trying to beat all the other websites up there that are optimized to searches like “Web Design in Vancouver”. It’s such a tough competition that it’s not worth my time optimizing for it, especially when most of my …

When I initially took on the website contract for Rhonda Sherwood (her website is at www.rhondasherwood.com), she asked me if it was possible that her website would be returned at the top if somebody searched for “financial planning for women in Vancouver” and other related keyphrases. Her focus was mostly female clients, and of course, the phrase “financial planning” is important, not to mention the geographic distinction of Vancouver, BC.
And here are the results, as I checked and verified on Google just now :

In relation to my previous post in regards to Search Engine Optimization and WordPress, I’d like to add another quick note on more SEO tips using WordPress. In that post I told you about how the search string “hot issues bc” or “hot issues in vancouver” would return my website on #1? Well, I have a category named “hot-issues”, so there is a URL that goes like this :
http://blog.jeffkee.com/category/hot-issues/
And under that page, I have many posts about different issues locally and around the world, and on the internet …

Ok, I’m not the best expert in SEO (search engine optimization) but I’ve done my share of research and I know enough to talk about it. And I also constantly do SEO monitoring for my own sites to learn for myself, so I can implement it on the websites I build for my clients for better products. I started my blog here for several reasons.
I love writing, and I love sharing ideas. I love to read the ideas and opinions of others and I also like the idea that I …

Ajax stands for Asynchronous Javascript and XML. In a nutshell, it is a method to interact with the server and send data back and forth without having to refresh the whole page like we used to have to. Instead of the <form> submitting to a separate page, the Javascript hits a file on the server with the given variables, and that PHP or ASP or VBScript file returns the result string based on the input, and the Javascript parses it again to put it out anywhere on the page. For …
